Sequoia

Yosemite

As you drive around the Giant Forest, you are given many opportunities to encounter massive trees.  The area near Crescent Meadows has a lot of these giants, and there are many trails you can take to explore among them.

This is a great picture to illustrate just how big these trees are.

The girls stand among three trees close together, and carved out by fire.

The view the girls had when they looked straight up.

Brandi holds a little pinecone of the sequoia tree.  Fire is essential to the growth of the sequoias.  The fire opens up the pinecones.  Chicory squirrels also help.

The Auto Log

Notice the posts - beginning this year, cars can no longer drive on it.
