After spending a couple of hours kayaking around the lake, we went to Sandy Cove for some sun & relaxation.  Kelly loves looking for the frogs that live along the shore.

These rafts did double duty while we camped.  The girls used them at night to sleep on, and used them to float on.  In the background, you can see the floats that are used to keep boats out of Sandy Cove - this is just a swimming area.

The kids have fun swimming in the cove.  In the background, you see the other smaller beach. There is also a big log that people like to climb on & play king of the hill.  Although the water is cold, it's not as cold as the rivers & streams in the Sierras.

View of the beach at Sandy Cove.  The front area has course sand, and there are plenty of trees to give shade.  People do bring their dogs, and it is their responsibility to clean up after them.

Kelly gives her little friend, Kermit, a ride on her raft. Brandi just relaxes as she floats along, and Nick spent most of the time swimming. The kids were smart in wearing t-shirts so they wouldn't get sunburned.

Sunset on the way back to Cedar Grove.

The smoke from the fires in southern Sequoia National Forest sometimes blew our way, and caused the sun to look very orange.  It was a little surreal.
