It
was a beautiful day at Hume Lake.
We got an ice cream while we waited for the rental shack to open up.
Finally, it did, and we got our kayaks. They recommend that
everyone get life vest, but minors have to wear one.
The kids quickly got in the kayaks and paddled out on the lake.
At first, Brandi wasn't too sure, but she quickly got the hang of paddling a kayak, and soon was exploring the shore and paddling across the lake.
Notice how low in the water the kayak is.... Nick flipped over, and when he got back in, his kayak was full of water. Here he's trying to bail it out with his hands.
The girls held on to each other's paddles and just floated in the middle of the lake for awhile.
Time for more exploring.
