Hume Lake and Sandy Cove are in the background here. Hume Lake is a wonderful place to spend the day.  You can lay out on the beach at Sandy Cove, go fishing, or rent one of the many watercraft (kayaks, canoes, rowboats) for a nominal fee.  

It was so warm that we decided to drive to Hume Lake and enjoy ourselves by the water.

 

Right away, we found a little garter snake, and Kelly played with it for a good couple of hours before letting it go free.

 

 

The snake was a cute little guy.  Brandi enjoyed watching.... from a distance.

 

Ten Mile Creek feeds into Hume Lake. There are a lot of nice little water holes.  In the distance, some people are fishing where the stream feeds into the lake.  Beyond is Sandy Cove, with beaches on either side - the right side having the bigger beach.  By the end of July, the streams are a lot more calm, allowing people to wade and play in them.

 

The girls finally decided to get in the water and cool off in there.  Kelly enjoyed letting the snake swim, but she didn't let it get too far.

 

 

While the girls played in the stream, Nick relaxed and read a magazine while listening to some soothing music (NOT). We were surprised to see a group of people
